Texas Tech's 2016 football season will begin in exactly 18 days with a Sept. 3 kickoff against Stephen F. Austin.

Today, we continue our Countdown to Kickoff series with a notable way the number 18 relates to Red Raider football.

18: Eighteen Texas Tech quarterbacks have attempted a pass in the program's Air Raid era.

From Kliff Kingsbury in 2000 to Pat Mahomes in 2015, from Graham Harrell's 2,011 attempts to Brant Costilla's single throw, 18 Texas Tech quarterbacks have attempted a pass in the program's Air Raid era.

Over the last 16 seasons, those 18 signal callers have combined to complete 6,910-of-10,439 passes for 77,050 yards, 620 touchdowns and 238 interceptions.
