With Early Signing day upon us, it is time to look at the social media highlights that includes everything from visits to offers to commitments to decommitments that helped make up Tech's 2024 class.

December 2021

Madisonville HS athlete Lorenzo Johnson Jr. receives his first offer from the Red Raiders. He would go on to commit on February 2, 2022 becoming the the first recruit in the 2024 class.

April 2022

Lake Belton wide receiver Micah Hudson, who was offered by TTU in November 2021, makes it to the 806 to watch spring practice. This was the second visit for the future Red Raider and five -star recruit who is the top player in the Lone-Star State in the 2024 class.

July 2022

Hawley athlete Chandlin Myers becomes the second commit in the Red Raider class, calling them his dream school. He was in town for Red Raider pool day, which was his third trip to Lubbock.

Local prospect Kasen Long from nearby Shallowater High School becomes the first offensive lineman to commit. He said being close to home was a significant factor in his decision. With him being nearby, he had been on campus plenty of times.

The Red Raiders added another local player when they secured a commitment from Lubbock Cooper offensive lineman Holton Hendrix. He had offers from fellow Big 12 schools Baylor, Houston, and Kansas.

Texas Tech landed one of the top quarterbacks in the 2024 class when they received a commitment from Hutto's Will Hammond, a Rivals Top 250 prospect and Elite 11 quarterback. He talked to RedRaiderSports about his experience at the Elite 11 camp.

Texas Tech hosted Junior Day on March 4, the same day as the basketball game against Oklahoma State. This event featured many big names, including Micah Hudson, Holton Hendrix, Trey Jackson, Kasen Long, Oliver Miles III, Peyton Morgan, Cheta Ofili, and 2025 commit Leyton Stone, who would eventually become Red Raiders.

Trey Jackson commits to Texas Tech, choosing the Red Raiders over offers from Arkansas State, Illinois State, Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, Texas State, and UTSA. However, they are not done as they add another recruit more than a week later.

EDGE Cheta Ofili chose the Red Raiders over offers from North Texas, Arkansas State, Texas State, Vanderbilt, Tulane, SMU, Ole Miss, California, and Purdue. He was one of the recruits who was in town for Junior Day.

Jacob Ponton became the third offensive lineman in the class when he committed on May 8th, 2023. He was at the Rivals Camp in Dallas the day before, where he held his own against some of the top players there. When he spoke to RedRaiderSports, he cited the staff as why he became a Red Raider.

Cameron Dickey gets the party started when he commits to the Red Raiders on June 7, kicking off a fantastic month for recruiting. With two big weekends of official visits and summer camps that was not a big surprise to the staff. After Dickey, Ellis Davis, Charles Anderson Jr., J'Koby Williams, Tyson Turner, and Edward Smith would all announce their commitments.

July 2023

After a big month in June, the Red Raiders were back at it again, making some big noise in recruiting. The first three days of July included the commitments of Ashton Hampton, Oliver Miles III, Peyton Morgan, and Isaiah Collins. Malik Esquerra would join the fun on July 15. The Red Raiders were the first program to offer Morgan, Collins, and Esquerra in what has become a staple under head coach Joey McGuire and his staff.

September 2023

The Red Raiders landed their highest recruit in school history when they received a commitment from Micah Hudson. The consensus five-star wide receiver chose TTU over offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, and pretty much every other major program in the country. He is the headliner in a Red Raider class that ranks #24 nationally.

December 2023

The transfer portal opens on December 4 which means teams will not only have the opportunity to add players, but they will also lose some. The transfer portal can help or hurt a team. For the Red Raiders, it helped them as they were able to land ten recruits and have the #5 class in the transfer portal. Those recruits are Davion Carter, Josh Kelly, Vinny Sciury, Jalin Conyers, Caleb Douglas, Jovan Jackson, Johncarlos Miller II, Sterling Porcher, Jack Burgess, and Maurice Rodriques.

The Red Raiders get commitments from five players in the transfer portal top 300 prospects. Carter is #40, Kelly #58, Sciury #157, Conyers #201, and Douglas #299.
