The Texas Tech football program has picked a verbal commitment for its 2017 class: Euless Trinity cornerback John Davis.

The three-star standout chose the Red Raiders over offers from Kansas State, Minnesota, ULM, Utah and others. He is commit No. 13 for Texas Tech.

Davis unofficially visited the South Plains earlier in July.
