The Texas Tech basketball program announced its 2016-17 non-conference schedule on Thursday.

Chris Beard's Red Raider team will open its season at home on Nov. 11 against Houston Baptist. In all, the team will play 10 of its 13 non-conference games - 11 of 14 if you include an exhibition against Missouri Western on Nov. 4 - at the United Supermarkets Arena. Texas Tech will head to Mexico in late November and play games against Auburn and either Purdue or Utah State at the Cancun Challenge. The team's only true non-conference road game will be a Dec. 17 meeting at Richmond.

The Red Raiders will open up Big 12 play on Friday, Dec. 30 against a to-be-determined team.
