1. Another camp coming up. Texas Tech will host another evaluation camp Thursday on campus.

While this year's camps have not yielded results as fast as the camps of last year, June 19 looks like it could be an influential day as Lawton (Okla.) cornerback Maurice Chandler and Cypress Woods (Texas) safety Alfred Pullom will meet with the Texas Tech football coaching staff face-to-face for at least the second time. Both have Red Raider offers in hand.

Chandler visited Tech in conjunction with a junior day during spring football while Pullom attended the Red Raiders' satellite camp in Cypress in June.

Chandler has listed Tech as his clear leader and his visit could possibly sure up a decision to commit to the Red Raiders whether it is at the camp or in the future.

Pullom also seems high on the Red Raiders and Tech is in the thick of things along with Baylor, Houston, Wake Forest and a handful of FCS programs.

Another guy to keep an ear out for is Aneas Henricks, a 6-foot, 168-pound corner from Bastrop (Texas). He likes his Tech and Wake Forest offers ahead of offers from Rice and Texas State.

2. Media Days on tap. After the camp, the RedRaiderSports.com crew will head to Dallas for the 2012 Big 12 Media Days which is almost the unofficial kickoff of the season.

Shortly after head coach Tommy Tuberville, quarterback Seth Doege, linebacker Terrance Bullitt and receiver Eric Ward return from Dallas the fall camp practices will commence.

The Red Raiders will go along with TCU, Iowa State, Oklahoma and Kansas State on Monday -- the first day.

The Sooners will most likely garner most of the headlines and many reporters will be curious to meet the TCU delegates for the first time.

Tech will most likely field questions about last season and how to make up for it, health entering the season and some other questions that will be tough to answer, but Doege, Bullitt and Ward are three of the best spoken players on the 2012 team.

Doege will be making his second trip to media days and handled the situation very well last season while repeating the same answers over-and-over again.

Collectively, the Big 12 delegations will answer questions from the serious to the absolute absurd.

TV networks like ESPN and Fox Sports Net rent out conference rooms and interview all the coaches and players in attendance. Many answers will be canned and aired when they broadcast teams' respective games.

The coaches and players will also meet with local TV reporters from across the Big 12 footprint, go on the air with radio shows from across the Big 12 and meet with print reporters in a free-for-all in something that looks like a scene out of The Walking Dead.

It's an exhausting day, but if the delegates play their cards right they can really affect the team's perception heading into Week 1 of the season.

3. The ever changing basketball roster remains in flux. For a while, it looked like head coach Billy Gillispie's roster had settled down.

Unfortunately, freshman forward Wannah Bail has left campus due to an academic issue and junior college transfer forward Rodrigo Silva is expected to leave the team for family reasons and play professionally in Brazil.

The good news is the signs point toward Bail being back for the fall semester. Silva's spot may or may not be filled.

Despite potentially two losses down low, the Red Raiders seem to have many capable forwards. Junior Jaye Crockett and sophomore Jordan Tolbert return and were consistently the team's best players last season. Freshman Aaron Ross also adds some depth in the paint.
