LSU wide receiver Tyron Johnson announced his decision to transfer on Thursday. Drew Kohnle spoke with Johnson's father on Friday morning and found out more about the former five-star receiver's plans and whether the Red Raiders are in the mix.

I spoke with Tyron Johnson's father, Tyrone, earlier this morning and he walked me through the family's thought process as the former five-star wide receiver looks for a new school.

"We are looking for a school with good academics, and we just want to surround him with good people," he said. "That’s the main thing. We just want to surround him with the best people. The right school, with the right fit, and the right people."

Johnson, as we mentioned after talking with him Thursday, noted that the family is looking heavily at teams with wide-open offenses.
