Welcome to The Red Raider Recruiting Roundup. National Signing Day is a little more than a week away, which means college football programs are finalizing their 2024 classes while things are heating up for the 2025 class and beyond. With that said, let's look at what's going on with Red Raider recruiting.

Michael Henderson III. 2025 Safety, Wylie, Texas. (East High School). Not ranked by Rivals.

Michael Henderson III committed to Texas Tech on January 23. The 2025 Wylie (TX) East safety was offered by the Red Raiders on December 25. He chose the Red Raiders over Texas State, Mississippi Valley State and Montana State. On committing to the Red Raiders, he said, "They really liked me, and they were the school that pulled the trigger. That means a lot to me because they believe in me, and since they offered me, the coaches have always called or texted and checked in on me," Henderson said. He adds to the Red Raiders 2025 class ranking, #17 overall.

2025 Red Raider targets

Kash Courtney. 2025 offensive tackle, Carthage, Texas. (Carthage HS). 5.5 three-star recruit.

The Red Raiders offered 2025 Carthage (TX) High School offensive tackle Kash Courtney on January 20. He committed to Baylor on October 29 and also has offers from Arkansas, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Tulsa, and UTSA. Courtney was named the District 8-4A Division II Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2023.

Braylan McDonald. 2025 athlete, Lancaster, Texas. (Lancaster High School). Not ranked by Rivals.

Texas Tech offered 2025 Lancaster (TX) High School athlete Braylan McDonald on January 25. I asked him about receiving his offer from the Red Raiders, "It was shocking and surprising. I was shaking trying to post the offer with so much excitement, "he said. McDonald has additional offers from Arkansas State, Boston College, Bowling Green, and Texas State.

2026 Red Raider targets

Blaine Bradford. 2026 safety, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. (Catholic HS). 6.0 four-star recruit.

The Red Raiders offered 2026 Baton Rouge (LA) Catholic safety Blaine Bradford on January 26. He is currently the fifth-ranked prospect in his class and has over 20 offers. Those include Baylor, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, Houston, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC.

Jalan Chapman. 2026 offensive tackle, New Orleans, Louisiana. (Warren Eastern Senior HS). Not ranked by Rivals.

Texas Tech offered 2026 New Orleans (LA) Warren Eastern Senior offensive tackle Jalan Chapman on January 25. He has offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Georgia State, Grambling State, LSU, Oregon, Troy, Tulane, and UTSA. Chapman was named to the 2022 MaxPreps High School Football Freshman All-American team.

Henry Harris. 2026 wide receiver, San Marcos, Texas. (San Marcos HS). Not ranked by Rivals.

The Red Raiders offered 2026 San Marcos (TX) High School wide receiver Henry Harris on January 19. He also has offers from California, Texas State, and UTSA. Harris attended Texas' Junior Day in Austin on January 20.

Noah Schuback. 2026 quarterback, Melissa, Texas. (Melissa HS). Not ranked by Rivals.

The Red Raiders offered 2026 Melissa (TX) High School quarterback Noah Schuback on January 26. He recently transferred from Hoover (AL) High School to Melissa on January 2. I asked him about his recruitment and offer from Texas Tech, "It's been on and off because I just moved to Melissa from Hoover. The day I got the offer, Coach Kittley came to school and talked with me about my future in the program," Schuback said. He has offers from Colorado State, Marshall, Mississippi, Purdue, Troy, and Virginia Tech and has also visited Georgia and Florida State.

Daveon Singleton. 2026 wide receiver, El Paso, Texas. (Chapin HS). Not ranked by Rivals.

Texas Tech offered 2026 El Paso (TX) Chapin High School wide receiver Daveon Singleton on January 19. I asked him about receiving the offer from the Red Raiders, "I felt really relieved getting an offer from Texas Tech. Last year at the camp, I had a chance to run the 40-yard dash in front of Coach (Joey) McGuire and had a workout with Coach (Kenny) Perry in the indoor facility separate from other campers, "Singleton said. He also has offers from Hawaii, SMU, and UTEP and took a game-day visit to Notre Dame. In 2023, he threw for 484 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for 700 yards and ten touchdowns, and caught 22 passes for 320 yards and six touchdowns for the Huskies, per his MaxPreps page.

Jamarion Vincent. 2026 athlete, Waco, Texas. (La Vega HS). Not ranked by Rivals.

Texas Tech offered 2026 Waco (TX) LA Vega High School athlete Jamarion Vincent on January 24, which he said was great. "Getting the offer from Texas Tech was great and I can't wait to go to there." Vincent also has offers from Texas State, Baylor, North Texas, and Arkansas State. In 2023, he passed for 856 yards and nine touchdowns and rushed for 841 yards and 11 touchdowns in 11 games for the Cadets, per his MaxPreps page. Vincent also plays basketball.

Kaleb Walker. 2026 defensive lineman, Lindale, Texas. (Lindale HS). Not ranked by Rivals.

2026 Lindale (TX) High School defensive lineman Kaleb Walker picked up his first offer from Texas Tech on January 26. He was the unanimous District 9-4A Defensive Newcomer of the Year. Look for more offers to start coming his way.

Kai Wheaton. 2026 cornerback, Allen, Texas. (Allen High School). Not ranked by Rivals.

Texas Tech offered 2026 Allen (TX) High School cornerback Kai Wheaton on January 23. I asked him about receiving the offer from the Red Raiders, "It was exciting. I'm happy that coaches are recognizing my talent, "he said. Wheaton also has offers from North Alabama, Oregon State, Arkansas, and California. In 2023, he finished with 15 tackles, three interceptions, and two passes defended in ten games for the Eagles, per his MaxPreps page.

2027 Red Raider targets

Davontrae Kirkland. 2027 athlete, Waco, Texas. (University HS). Not ranked by Rivals.

The Red Raiders offered 2027 Waco University High School athlete Davontrae Kirkland on January 24. He said he was excited to receive the offer from the Red Raiders, "Getting an offer from Texas Tech was just ecstatic for me. I've actually been there a couple of times, and the place and environment made this offer mean so much more to me, " Kirkland said. He has offers from Baylor, North Texas, and Texas State. In 2023, he finished with 30 tackles, two passes, and one interception in ten games for the Trojans, per his MaxPreps page.

Donquavieus “Qua” Ford. 2027 offensive tackle, Texarkana, Texas. (Texas High School). Not ranked by Rivals.

Texas Tech offered 2027 Texarkana (TX) Texas High School offensive tackle Donquavies "Qua" Ford on January 17. The offer was his first. I asked him his thoughts on receiving an offer from Texas Tech, "I'm blessed and thankful for this opportunity," Ford said. He also has offers from UTSA, Houston, SMU, and Arkansas.

Kaeden Scott. 2027 offensive tackle, San Antonio, Texas. (Roosevelt HS). Not ranked by Rivals.

San Antonio (TX) Roosevelt High School 2027 offensive tackle Kaeden Scott picked up an offer from Texas Tech on January 17. He also has offers from UTSA, Houston, and UTEP. Scott will no doubt be receiving more offers shortly.
