The Recruiting Six Pack is back. The Texas Tech Red Raiders have been hot in the recruiting trail, picking up commits from three players who were in town the past two weekends for official visits. But, as we all know, in college football recruiting, you win and lose out on some recruiting battles. With that said, let's take a look at what's happening with Red Raider recruiting.

Texas Tech Commits

Ellis Davis. 5.7, three-star offensive tackle, Prosper, TX. (Prosper HS). #45 OT and #73 in Texas.

Texas Tech picked up one of their top targets on June 12 when Ellis Davis announced he was coming to Lubbock. The Texas Top 100 recruit chose the Red Raiders over offers that included Auburn, BYU, Florida State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Penn State, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. The Red Raiders were the first school to offer Davis last October, and he said he chose them because it felt like home. He joins a Texas Tech class ranked #26 nationally and first in the Big 12.

J'Koby Williams. 5.7, three-star running back, Beckville, TX. (Beckville HS). #33 RB and #83 in Texas.

Texas Tech added their second Texas Top 100 recruit in a week when running back/slot receiver J'Koby Williams announced he was committing to the Red Raiders on June 18. He chose them over offers that included Baylor, Houston, LSU, Michigan, SMU, TCU, Texas, UCF, and UTSA. Williams was another recruit whose first offer was from the Red Raiders, who offered him in November 2021. He said Lubbock was where he wanted to be and that the coaches, players, and the place itself were all great!

Tyson Turner. 5.7, three-star wide receiver, Bryan, TX. (Bryan HS).

When he committed, Tyson Turner also added to the Red Raider's big recruiting week. He chose Texas Tech over offers from Air Force, Army, Boston College, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Sam Houston State, Texas State, Tulane, UTSA, and Utah. He took an official to Boston College on June 2, where he had a great visit with the Eagles. However, Turner now becomes the #13 recruit for Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech Targets

Ashton Hampton. 5.7, three-star Safety, Pearland, TX. (Pearland HS).

Ashton Hampton currently holds 13 offers, including Texas Tech, Houston, Missouri, Oregon State, Tulane, Vanderbilt, and Washington State. He was in Lubbock on the weekend of June 9 for an official visit and now has the Red Raiders high on his list after being here. However, Hampton was at Tulane last weekend to visit the Green Wave. Hampton posted on his Instagram that he would be committing on July 1, and I believe the Red Raiders are the team to beat here.

Adrian Wilson. 2025, 5.9, four-star wide receiver, Pflugerville, TX. (Weiss HS). #51 nationally, #29 WR, and #26 in Texas.

Adrian Wilson is one of the top players in the 2025 class and committed to the TCU Horned Frogs on Sunday. He had 20 offers, including Texas Tech, Arizona State, Baylor, Kansas State, Miami, Fl, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Utah. Wilson had a good weekend at the Texas State 7-on-7 tournament and is the second recruit in a TCU 2025 class ranked sixth.

Ty Hawkins. 2025, 5.8, four-star dual-threat quarterback, San Antonio, TX. (Johnson HS). #227 nationally, #3 DTQB, and #42 in Texas.

TCU's big recruiting weekend began on Saturday night when Ty Hawkins announced his commitment to them. He had offers from Texas Tech, Baylor, Campbell, Houston, Incarnate Word, Mississippi, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Oregon, SMU, Texas State, and UTSA. Hawkins was in Lubbock last week for an unofficial visit but had also recently visited TCU and Ohio State.
