Texas Tech landed it's fourth commitment under the Grant McCasland era on Friday when the class of 2023 Finnish 6-foot-8 forward Eemeli Yalaho announced his pledge to the Red Raiders.

Yalaho was offered by McCasland on May 3rd, followed by an offer from Ed Cooley at Georgetown and an offer and official visit to Nebraska early in the month.

Tech hosted Yalaho the weekend of May 12-May 14, his last official visit before making the decision to become a Red Raider.

McCasland offered Yalaho during his time at North Texas in the fall of 2022, his third Division 1 offer at the time.

After the commitment of Yalaho, the Tech roster sits at 11 scholarships of the permissible 13. Yalaho is the fourth player in the 6'8" and above range, joining recent transfer commit from Arizona State C Warren Washington (7'0"), F Kye'ron Lindsey (6'8"), and F Robert Jennings (6'8").

Yalaho is described as more of a stretch forward who can either play at power forward or at center, possessing a good shot and good feel for the game.

Throughout his prep career he has shown the ability to shoot from beyond the arc and play with a high motor on the defensive end of the floor.
