Kliff Kingsbury has been dismissed as Texas Tech's head coach after six seasons. Here is early reaction from many of Texas Tech's commits and recruiting targets.

"I'm devastated to hear that they had to fire my guy! Coach K is absolutely dominant and I just feel like he deserves another shot. I haven't heard from any of the assistant coaches yet, but I'm sure I will.

"I'm waiting to see who the next guy may be, in order for me to make any changes to my commitment or what not."

"Kingsbury is a great guy. Nothing negative to say about him. I haven't heard anything from the coaches.

"And yes, I'm still 100 percent with Texas Tech. I know the coach they bring in is going to be great. And I will visit Tech again when the new coach comes to see what he's like."

"It is what it is. He's an amazing coach and I wish he had more time. I haven't spoken with coaches yet but plan to soon. No in-home visit was scheduled for us. Not sure what is going to happen for me next."

"I'm shocked at the moment. [...] I'm good right now. I will see what happens and who is hired and stays."

"It's crazy man, a great coach is fired. One bad season can't determine a coach's ability to coach. [...] I'm still 100 percent committed. I'm playing it by ear right now, trying to see what Tech's next move will be."

"I mean, I was hit pretty hard. Coach K is a great man. He helped me out with a lot of things in life. I don't have a home visit setup right now but in the future I probably will be. I'm still down with Tech. Coach Emmitt and Coach Johns are my guys."

"I think it was a bad decision. I really thought they would overcome injuries they definitely had this year. I thought the would take that into consideration for another year just to see what all the top recruits he has committed will do. I guess that doesn't matter and we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

"I'm going to see what's going to happen with the new head coach they bring in and also the assistant coaches they have now and see if they decide to keep him or replace them as well."

"I guess that's just how college football works. If you're not winning games that tends to happen. It was unfortunate for him. A lot of things didn't go his way, but I guess that's how it was going and I love him as a person, love him as a man.

"I was going to come on my official visit this weekend, but we'll see how that plays out.

"I want to wait for more on the new coach for sure."

"I honestly think it's a tough situation. It's really sad that Coach Kingsbury's gone.

"As of now, my status with Texas Tech has not changed at all. I'm still committed."

"I'm going to have to wait and see what else happens at Tech before I can say more."

"I’m sad to see him go before I even got a chance to be apart of his team. He’s a great coach and will probably find a great spot else where"

"Yes I wanna wait until things settle before making another decision"

"Yes I will come visit Lubbock again"
