Rivals250 WR commits to Texas Tech
Ocala (FL) Trinity Catholic receiver Kadron Boone has made the call. With offers from top programs from around the country, the Rivals250 standout had no shortage of options. In the end, Boone went with the program with which he felt the most comfortable.
"I decided on Texas Tech, the school I felt comfortable with" he confirmed. "They never told me anything just because I wanted to hear it. They were honest with me. I got along with my recruiter (Lincoln Riley) and Coach [Mike] Leach from the first day.

"They told me how they could use me in the offense and how I fit really well. I learned a lot of things about the school and, from day one, it felt like family."
Though the 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect has yet to see the program in-person, he won't be the only Sunshine State product heading to Lubbock next summer.
"I've been staying in contact with Shawn Corker," said Boone. "He was telling me about his experience (during his visit). He told me that he fell in love with it once he stepped on campus."
Boone admitted that his decision to spurn schools closer to home came as a surprise to some around him.
"He (Trinity Catholic head coach John Brantley III) was shocked because I didn't talk to him about the recruiting that much," he said. "He thought I was going to go to Florida. When I told him my top four, he never argued with it. He felt they all fit me.
"He said that he was going to support me 100-percent wherever I went. That's one thing I really do appreciate about it."
Though Boone plans to take several official visits this fall, he does not believe that they will have any impact on his decision.
"I'm probably going to still take a visit to Georgia, Oklahoma and Miami," he explained. I'm going to see what they have to offer, but I still like Tech more.
"I don't want to take away anything from Tech. Those are schools I just wanted to get to and learn more about. I'm still 100-percent with Texas Tech all the way."
Rivals.com ranks Boone as the No. 138 prospect in the country regardless of position. He is the Red Raiders' 16th verbal commitment for the 2010 class.
