Take us through your day in Lubbock. What did you get to do and see today?
"We got there around noon Friday. From there, we had a very full day. First, we met up with the coaching staff, exchanged our hellos and stories about recruiting and life, ate lunch at the Cash, and toured around the campus. From there, we went into the position meetings and then team meetings before transitioning outside to watch walkthroughs. After walkthroughs, we went and had a photo shoot, then went and had Dirk's Chicken with coach (Stephen) Hamby and coach (Josh) Cochran before watching the baseball game and grabbing some ice cream. The next morning we had breakfast at a new spot on campus with the whole staff before looking at the apartments and heading back to sit in that days meetings and kill some time before watching the scrimmage. The scrimmage was great. Watching the spread offense they have was really good. After we had the crawfish boil, then headed home!"
What was your favorite part of the visit? Did anything stand out?
"The biggest thing that stood out was the offensive line room. That is a special group of guys who love what they're doing and have the hard work and dedication to achieve their goals. Coach Hamby sets an atmosphere where there is never a question and never a lack of energy or enthusiasm going into the day."
Who are the coaches you were able to connect with? How is your relationship with the Tech coaches, and how often do you stay in contact? "I really got to be around the whole staff and continue building on relationships I had already had, which was great. They are the most frequent staff to hit up my phone, and we have great relationships."
