Notebook: ETSN.fm + Team APEC Combine

There were more than a hundred participants who participated in Sunday's
ETSN.fm + Team APEC Recruiting Combine in Tyler. The action started with testing

-- from laser-timed 40-yard dashes to vertical and broad jumps -- at Team APEC
in the morning and then moved to Tyler (Texas) Robert E. Lee High School in the
afternoon for position drills and 1-on-1s.
The combine results and official player measurements are all listed by position
on
ETSN.fm.
I have provided a position-by-position review with thoughts on some of the top
performers on the day, including a number of prospects from both the 2015 and
2016 class who plan to attend Texas Tech's satellite camp in Longview next week.
QUARTERBACK
Jacksonville (Texas) 2015 quarterback
Carter McCown, cousin to the brothers
McCown, was named the Offensive MVP of the camp and posted some impressive
numbers on the day.
The 6-foot-3, 173 pound quarterback plans to camp with Texas, TCU and Baylor.
McCown will also take unofficial visits to Central Arkansas and Louisiana
Lafayette this summer.
San Augustine (Texas) 2015 quarterback
Jamikel Roberts was named the
Quarterbacks MVP of the camp. The 5-foot-11, 172-pound quarterback plans
to camp with UNT, UTSA and Texas Tech this summer. Most of the schools are still
speaking with him about playing quarterback, but the Red Raiders see him as an
athlete and want to see him work at wide receiver.
Henderson signal caller
Zane Boles plans to
camp with SMU, Rice and Stephen F. Austin this summer.
Marshall quarterback
Justin Hart (2016) will camp at Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech in the coming
months.
RUNNING BACK
Tyler (Texas)
John Tyler 2015 running back
Jeremy Wilson was named the Running Backs
MVP of the camp and ran a laser timed 40-yard dash time of 4.41 seconds. The 5-foot-6, 152-pound prospect is hearing
from Texas A&M, Stephen F. Austin and Southern Arkansas. Wilson also plans to camp with TCU this
summer.
Cayuga running back
Keshawn Jackson
Texarkana (Texas) Texas High's Javon ThomasClick plans to camp with Texas Tech and a few other programs this summer.Here to view this Link. currently holds five
offers and is planning summer camp trips to Tulsa, Oklahoma State and Tulsa.
Waskom's Kevin
Johnson intends to camp with North Texas, ULM and Louisiana Tech this
summer.
WIDE RECEIVER
Texarkana (Texas)
Texas High wide receiver Jarion Anderson was named the Wide
Receiver MVP of the camp and ran a laser timed 40-yard dash time of 4.66
seconds. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound receiver currently
holds one offer from Tulsa and is hearing from
Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Arkansas and Missouri. Anderson also plans to camp
with Tulsa and Oklahoma State this summer.
Henderson's Tristen Larry (6-foot-2, 178-pounds) plans to camp with Baylor,
Bullard (Texas) Brook Hill wideout Seth BrasherClick Louisiana-Lafayette, TCU and North Texas this summer.Here to view this Link. (2016) is already
receiving interest from coaches at South Carolina, Texas, Purdue, Nebraska and
Stanford. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound prospect plans to camp at Louisiana Tech, TCU

Van (Texas) 2015 offensive lineman Wyatt SantosClick OFFENSIVE LINEHere to view this Link., and younger brother of Texas
linebacker Dalton Santos, was named the Offensive Lineman MVP of the camp and
led the day for 225-pound bench press reps with 19. The 6-foot-2, 318-pound lineman
is hearing from
several programs, but is still waiting on his first offer. Santos plans to camp
with North Texas and Louisiana Tech, among others this summer. He also continues to keep in
touch with the new staff at Texas.
Gladewater (Texas) Union Grove offensive lineman
Garrett Bowery
plans to camp with Arkansas, Texas A&M, UTSA, Stephen F. Austin and

Kilgore (Texas) 2015 defensive end Jordan Thompson was named the Defensive Line
MVP of the camp and ran a laser timed 40-yard dash time of 4.43 seconds. The 6-foot-1, 191-pound defensive end is
still waiting on his first offer, but has received interest from the coaches at
