JUNIOR TO WATCH
DB Justin Broiles, Oklahoma City (OK) John Marshall --
Class of 2017 cornerback Justin Broiles has been in contact with Texas Tech for
a while now and even took a trip out to Lubbock for the Red Raiders' game
against Iowa State last week. He does not hold an offer from the Red Raiders as
of yet, but he feels like one could come very soon. He has developed a very
close relationship with Kevin Curtis.
"Coach Curtis and I talk 24/7. We are always talking with each other every day.
90 percent of the time we talk about life stuff and the other 10 percent is
usually about what Texas Tech has to offer and stuff like that. They are
building something special," he said. "Me and coach Curtis are very close, and I
really love coach Curtis. Coach Curtis is special. I feel like when I talk to
other coaches, they are treating it like it is a business, but I feel like coach
Curtis is actually invested in me and wants what's best for me."
AROUND THE BIG 12
West
Virginia added commit No. 20 on Tuesday when Glendora, Calif. athlete Damon Johnson committed to the Mountaineers. WVU is the only offer for the
two-star prospect.
Kansas
upped its commit total to 11 this past week when Harker Heights (Texas)
offensive lineman Chris Hughes committed to the Jayhawks. The No. 60
offensive tackle committed to the Jayhawks over offers from California, Houston,
Utah State and Texas Tech.
Iowa
State landed commit No. 10 for the 2016 class when Mansfield (Texas) Lake Ridge
defensive back Arnold Azunna committed to the Cyclones over offers from
15 other schools.
