McDaniel fires back at doubters

While there's never been any question about his talent or character, a small but vocal minority has continually refused to acknowledge the legitimacy of Texas Tech commitment Terry McDaniel's listed offer from LSU. The 6-7, 333-pound offensive linemen also holds offers offers from Arizona, Oklahoma State, Colorado and Kansas State. So what's the deal, does McDaniel have an offer from the Bayou Bengals?
"Yes sir, I do hold a written offer from LSU," confirms the New Diana product. "I've got the letter right here. I've heard that their Rivals page keeps saying I don't, but I don't know why they're saying that, because I've got it right here."

Not that it matters much anymore to McDaniel, who committed to the Red Raiders in July. And even though he's solid to Tech, some parties are still going after him.
"I still get a lot of phone calls and letters," said McDaniel, who was in Lubbock for the Iowa State game two weeks ago. "Actually Kansas State just called me last night and just asked if I was still solid to Tech and I said I was. He said he was going to keep calling me anyways, and I said, 'That's nice and everything, but I'm still solid to Tech, and that's not going to change.'"
Indeed, McDaniel is focusing all of his attention on on the gridiron and hoping to continue a streak that has lasted nearly three years.
"I'm doing pretty good right now," he said of his season. "I'm starting both ways and averaging a little over 10 tackles per game on defense and about 7-8 pancakes on offense. Also, I haven't allowed a sack yet, which makes that three years starting on varsity without allowing a sack."
McDaniel's New Diana squad didn't clown around and scored a big 57-26 win over Big Sandy this weekend. The mammoth athlete registered 14 pancakes, six tackles, a sack, a blocked PAT and one touchdown run of nine yards.
