-"In all frankness, we haven't won a national championship in football since 2005." Bowlsby noted they're frustrated with that and not making a national title in basketball since 2008.

-This will be the first year that West Virginia and TCU are on an equal revenue distribution level with the rest of the conference.

-Bowlsby notes that the "Baker Mayfield" Rule that allows interconference non-scholarship transfers was not just a rule for Mayfield's sake, was one that he believes is the right decision in the long run.

-Bowlsby said they're certainly going to talk about the makeup of the Big 12 conference as far as number of teams in tomorrow's Big 12 board meeting. Conversations are ongoing, have been "very frank" according to the commissioner.

-Bowlsby noted that new participant numbers for football are declining, noting the health concerns.

-Bowlsby also said he believes current college football recruiting rules are in need of serious reform.

-Lots of talk about safety from Bowlsby. Really believes the Big 12 is at the forefront as far as concussions go.

-Bowlsby asked about if Baylor has given them all the info they've asked for as far as the sexual assault scandal. Baylor has indicated they don't have a written report, but Baylor will answer questions of the Big 12 board at tomorrow's meeting.

-The Big 12 only has the same written knowledge of the Pepper Hamilton report as the public, but they have more "oral information" than the public.

-Bowlsby on the sexual assault scandal at Baylor: "The image of the other Big 12 schools have been sullied as a result."

-The commissioner notes that the Big 12 championship game will almost certainly be a neutral site game, won't be a campus game.

-Bowslby says they'll likely split into two divisions, with the two division winners playing in the Big 12 title game. Also notes that it will flip flop between being broadcast by Fox and ESPN each year.

-Dividing into divisions in different ways has been discussed, including rotating the divisions, trying to keep traditional rivalries in tact.

-Beaty notes that essentially everything he knows about their offense he learned from Kliff Kingsbury during his time with him at A&M. Gave Kliff a ton of credit for teaching him a lot.

MIKE GUNDY
