Kingsbury comes home

Kliff Kingsbury is returning home.
Kingsbury, a three-year starter at Texas Tech from 2000-02, is expected to be named the Red Raiders' next head football coach. University athletic director Kirby Hocutt announced the hire on his Twitter account Wednesday afternoon.

The 33-year-old Texas A&M offensive coordinator interviewed with Hocutt on Tuesday in Houston, capping off a busy four-day stretch that included a trip to New York City to watch Aggie quarterback Johnny Manziel win the Heisman Trophy.
In his first, and only, season in College Station, Kingsbury guided a prolific A&M attack that ranked third nationally in both total offense and scoring offense and helped develop Manziel into one of the nation's most exciting football players.
