Hall considering Texas Tech visit

With the final week of the Texas high school football season upon us, many seniors around the state have their playoff hopes teetering on a victory in the last game on the schedule. One such prospect is Tyler (Texas) Lee athlete Zach Hall, who is hoping for a chance to be in the playoffs one more time with a win this weekend over Naaman Forest.
Once the season does come to a close for the Raiders, however, Hall will begin to shift his focus exclusively to the recruiting process. With that in mind, the athlete will soon start picking and choosing the programs that could earn official visits in the coming months.
WHAT'S NEXT?:
A trip to Lubbock is likely in the works, as Hall and head coach Darrell Piske are planning on heading to the South Plains in the coming weekends depending on how things shake out with the playoffs.
Along with a visit to Lubbock, Hall would also like to head out to Waco to see Baylor, take the short trip out to SMU, and maybe even head east for a further trip to check out Missouri. As far as his decision, Hall will begin to concoct a plan for a commitment once his official visits are all in the books, whether that be in January or a bit sooner.
IN HIS WORDS:
On Tech under Coach Kingsbury: "They are building something new. It would be good to go in there and help them build something. Put something together and know that you helped build the program from the ground up. It'd feel real good to know that I helped contribute to the greatness."
On knowing Tech QB Patrick Mahomes, having the same mascot as Tech: "Well we're the Red Raiders, so that'd be cool going to another school being the Red Raiders. Pat Mahomes, I grew up playing sports with him, and I like playing with him, so that's a nice thing they have going up there."
On the recruiting process in general: "I'm going to have a lot of fun with it, because not everyone gets to do the recruiting thing and visit all those colleges. I'm very grateful for that. I'm going to have fun with that. You only get to do that once. It'll be a real good experience."
OUR REACTION:
Hall has been on Tech's radar for nearly two years now, and he's an elite athlete that could play a number of positions. The Red Raiders are very low on open scholarships for the 2016 class, though, with roughly four or so spots left in the class that all very well may go towards defense. We'll see what happens if Hall goes through with a visit out to Lubbock, though. - Will McKay
