Film Room: 2025 Mineral Wells (TX) HS tight end Preztynn Harrison

Texas Tech landed its tenth commitment to the 2025 recruiting class in 2025 Mineral Wells (TX) HS tight end Preztynn Harrison.

Harrison is coming off a strong 2023 campaign, his junior year where he posted 374 yards on 17 receptions, scoring eight touchdowns last season.

Playing at a 6-6 frame, Harrison was recruited to Texas Tech as a tight end, but with his receiver background, Harrison has developed strong pass catching skills.

Let's jump into what makes Harrison such a strong get for the Red Raiders.

Elite Ball Skills

Harrison has shown a strong ability to use his large frame to win 50-50 balls at the high school level, which is to be expected with an athlete of his size.

While helped by his height, Harrison has shown really strong jump timing in conjunction with his height, making him a deep threat for Mineral Wells during his junior season.

Strong Speed In Open Space

Harrison, a track and field athlete along with his football ability, is able to bring his speed to the football field.

A runner of the 100, 200, 4x100, 4x200 and participant in the long jump and high jump during his junior year, Harrison's bests last year were a 12.03 in the 100, a 23.08 in the 200, a 6' 4" high jump and a 21' 9.25" long jump.

Harrison's speed is evident on the football field, breaking away from high school DBs with the ball in his hands at a high level.

Excellent Footwork At Route Stem & In Traffic

The most surprising thing that stood out about Harrison's tape was the fluidity in his route running ability at the route stem, as was seen in earlier plays in the shake & go routes.

Harrison's body control helped him on the out seen below and was able to manage himself in traffic on the sweep play.

Harrison is one that should have a deeper offer list and is an excellent get for the Red Raiders as General Manager James Blanchard looks to build a third consecutive top-25 recruiting class in 2025.
