Golwas has posted some very impressive numbers in the weight room and on the track, checking the box for a Joey McGuire recruit.

Heading into his senior year, Golwas has posted a 475-pound squat a 4.50 40-yard dash, and a 6.64 60-yard dash on the track and his athletic ability has translated to the football field.

Tech was early on Golwas' recruitment, being his first D1 offer, as he chose the Red Raiders over Army. Golwas is also a very impressive baseball player at the high school level and is a consensus top-100 baseball recruit in the state of Texas.

As Golwas makes the early decision to become a Red Raider, let's take a look at what he has been able to do on the football field where he will make the transition to inside linebacker from his high school position of outside linebacker.

Defense

Golwas' best trait that flashes off the film is how active he is as a tackler, seeming to have a nose for the ball and a strong ability to play in space due to his speed.

Marcus HS has moved Golwas all around on the defensive side of the ball and it is a testament to his athletic ability, being able to play as a field-side edge rusher all the way up to a safety-type player and it circles back to his ability to recognize the play and proceed to make a tackle. Golwas has shown a knack to be active in the run game and uses his speed to find the ball quickly.

Combined with his tackling ability, Golwas has been strong as a pass rusher when it's dialed up and has been able to defend the pass when thrown at, a true utility knife at the high school level that will have a chance to make an impact at inside linebacker in Lubbock.

Offense

Although it isn't where Golwas will make an impact at Texas Tech, he has been a very strong player for Marcus on the offensive side of the ball as a running quarterback.

Golwas is not scared of contact on the ground and is able to show his speed when he gets in space.

It is clear to see why his athletic ability shined through to the Texas Tech staff that puts those statistics and measurables at a premium.
