Colorado gave Texas Tech fits for years when the Buff were still in the Big 12, and that included their matchup on October 23rd in 2010, the first year of the Tommy Tuberville era.

The Red Raiders and Buffaloes both came into the game sitting at 3-3 through the midway point of the season, both needing a valuable W to stay on course for bowl eligibility.

Things were noted up at seven a piece late in the first half when Colorado starting QB Tyler Hansen left the game due to injury, with backup Cody Hawkins replacing him and helping the Buffs go into the locker room at the half with a 10-7 lead.

That lead would only increase as the third quarter came to a close, as Colorado found themselves up 24-14, slowing the Red Raider offense for most of the afternoon to that point.

Tech and starting quarterback Taylor Potts, who finished the contest 24 for 38 with 286 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, helped Tech make a big 13 point comeback to win the game in the fourth quarter, capped off by a Matt Williams 36 yard field goal with 2:09 left to play that would prove enough for Tech to top Colorado 27-24, moving to 4-3 on the season.
