KLIFF KINGSBURY

... Kingsbury said he expects to see a "heavy dose" of the Oklahoma running game on Saturday.

... "There's a lot to fix. No doubt. Midway point. Reassess what we're doing, how we're doing it. [...] We took a look at, really, everything on Sunday."

... "If you come out flat for homecoming, it's not very good. I'm not sure what the cause of that was, if we were intimidated, if we were nervous. It's not the typical energy we've had, especially when playing at home."

... "We're going to do some different things in practice. The next part of the season, a lot of similar offenses to what we run in the Big 12." Kingsbury said that the team will do more good-on-good work in practice as a result.

... "We've got to be mentally tougher. There's no doubt about it. When you get down and can't respond, that's not what you want to be labeled as a player or a team."

... Kingsbury was asked about not being demonstrative on the sideline when players make mistakes in the game: "I don't do anything for show." Kingsbury declined to get into what he says to players or what the specific consequences are for players, only saying that those issues are "handled."

... "We have to play tougher. We'll try to ramp up practices and see if we can bring more energy, more enthusiasm and more mental toughness this week."

... "I think (Pat Mahomes') lack of practicing caught up with him (against West Virginia)."

... "Sounds like (Mahomes) feels a lot better this week early in the week and he'll be able to practice more."

... "We weren't our sharpest offensively, that's for sure."

... "We've got to be able to run the ball better, no doubt."

... "Corey (Dauphine) is very talented and we're going to try and find ways to get him touches. He just needs to do a little more studying on his own and get caught up with our scheme."

... Derrick Willies is "day to day." Kingsbury said that Dylan Cantrell is "kind of the same deal."

LUKE STICE

... "It was a disappointing Saturday. No two ways around that."

... Stice said team morale has to "continue to increase."

... "There's got to be an increased accountability with everybody in that locker room."

... Stice said the team needs to "demand more from each other."

... Stice said "coaching hasn't been the issue," the issues have been with execution.

... "That was an inexecusable performance."

... Stice said that the players have held a players-only meeting on Oct. 11 to address some of these issues.

... "You have to do what you can control. We put ourselves in poor situations (against WVU) because of things we did wrong."

JONATHAN GILES

... Giles said the team wasn't focused "physical or mentally," which is why the team came out flat.

... "I feel like we can. We have great leaders on this team, like Luke Stice, Pat Mahomes. I feel like we can easily turn it around."

... "I feel like (the inside receivers) had a pretty good game. Overall, we're more focused on the wins and losses."

... "I feel like penalties are the one things that slow us down as an offense."

... "I feel like coaches preach to us each and every day being disciplined."

... "Usually, if we have a false start or some kind of stupid, dumb penalty in practice, we'll do up-downs. Also, we hold each other accountable."

... "When things didn't go our way, everybody was looking down and looking sad instead of keeping the energy up (on the sideline)."

... Giles said that Mahomes leads both by example and also by being vocal.
