Anenih "very excited" about new Texas Tech offer

Kevin Patrick

Since joining the Texas Tech coaching staff earlier this year, defensive line coach Kevin Patrick has extended six known offers to defensive end prospects in the 2017 class. A few of the prospects - James Lynch, Mark Brown and Brock Martin - even unofficially visited the South Plains earlier this offseason.

However, all six prospects are now committed to other programs and the Texas Tech coaching staff is starting to identify new prospects at the defensive end position.

Last night, Patrick made a new offer to Arlington Timberview defensive end David Anenih.

"Yes sir, coach Patrick offered me tonight," Anenih said. "He mentioned my track speed and me having the tools to stand up and play rush end at Texas Tech. It's definitely an honor and a blessing, I'm very excited about the offer.

"We talked about scheduling a visit too. I would like to visit Texas Tech. I don't have anything setup yet, but I'm trying to take a few unofficial visits before the season starts."

Currently rated a 5.5 three-star prospect, Anenih finished his junior season with 43 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and three sacks.
