THE DETAILS

Notable Offers: Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Iowa State, Houston, East Carolina, Nevada, New Mexico, Rice, Southern Miss, UTSA, Tulane

Breakdown: With a recruiting class that's essentially full at defensive back, the focus for Texas Tech defensive coordinator David Gibbs and his assistants now shifts toward the front seven.

One of the prospects the Red Raiders have targeted recently is Anenih, who picked up an offer from Texas Tech just over a week ago. He'd already been hearing from defensive line coach Kevin Patrick for some time, and Patrick pulled the trigger on an offer for several reasons.

"Yes sir, coach Patrick offered me tonight," Anenih said at the time. "He mentioned my track speed and me having the tools to stand up and play rush end at Texas Tech. It's definitely an honor and a blessing, I'm very excited about the offer.

"We talked about scheduling a visit too. I would like to visit Texas Tech. I don't have anything setup yet, but I'm trying to take a few unofficial visits before the season starts."

And Anenih could have a busy visit schedule both in August and this fall, as his stock has been blowing up over the summer.

EVALUATION

Anenih is an edge speed rusher, plain and simple. He's got legit track speed, and that's something to be treasured in a prospect with a 6-foot-3 frame and room to grow. On film, you can seen him take advantage of many slower offensive linemen, slipping by them for sacks and TFLs. However, he also does a good job of shedding blockers and makes sure tackles on contact.

Anenih definitely fits the mold for what Texas Tech is looking for in a rush end.

WHERE DOES TECH STAND?

Well, that's a bit hard to tell at the moment. The Red Raiders are certainly in the mix, as Anenih is considering taking an unofficial visit out to Lubbock in August or possibly an official later on in the fall.

It's imperative that Patrick continue to build a relationship with Anenih for the Red Raiders to stay in it for the end.
