Techs right in the mix for Richardson Pearce RB

Tech has yet to garner a commitment from a tailback – something the staff would like to accomplish before signing day roll around – but the Raiders are popping up on the lists of several Lone Star State prospects. One such running back is Richardson Pearce’s Parrish Fisher.
The 5-9, 204-pound speedster already has an offer from Texas Tech (along with about 15 other schools) but he said he’s still going to need some time before setting up a top five.
“Really and truly, I haven’t even got it down to a top five of where I’m going to visit or anything like that. I’ll probably know a little more in the next couple of weeks. I think I’m getting closer,” Fisher said.
Fisher, who has rushed for 1337 yards and 11 scores already this season, has been talking to Red Raider assistant coach Sonny Dykes and he said Texas Tech is one of the schools that he’s strongly considering for an official visit.
“I kind of just recently started talking to (Tech) but I’m still looking at them,” Fisher said. “I’m pretty much giving about eight to 10 schools a look and trying to narrow it down to five. I’m looking at Tech too even though they kind of just jumped in.”
As one of the more well-rounded backs in the state (Fisher recorded seven receptions in Pearce’s last game), the blue-chip tailback has plenty of upside, including strong character and academics.
“Most of them when they talk to me say that they like the fact that I have good vision and that I’m a good cutback runner,” Fisher said when asked what he though was making him a top prospect. “Also, they tell me they like that I’m a good student.”
Fisher added that he would like to take all five visits before making his commitment. Right now, it’s anyone’s guess as to where he’ll wind up but the picture should start coming into focus in a few weeks with the Red Raiders having as good a chance as anyone.
