Mike Singletary, Tech's top rebounder and No. 2 scorer, was out with a calf injury. Then two of the Red Raiders' post players fouled out -- Jaye Crockett with 15 minutes left, and D'walyn Roberts with 10 minutes.
The Bears (17-9, 5-7) still trailed the final 26 minutes of the game.
Baylor was within 64-62 and with the ball after a turnover by Reese with 3:51 left. But the Bears made three consecutive turnovers by three different players.
LaceDarius Dunn led Baylor with 21 points.
