Swope taking it all in, coming to Techs jr day

Everything in Ryan Swope's life seems to happen fast. The senior-to-be runs a legit 4.4 forty and spent most of last season making defenders look like they were in slow motion. Therefore Swope can probably relate to Ricky Bobby's (Talladega Nights) desire to "go fast." However, one area of his life where he's in no hurry is finding a college to commit to.
"It's going good, we've been getting out to a lot of junior days and stuff like that," said Swope. "I'm just taking it all in, to be honest with you. I'm just taking it in and enjoying it as much as I can, I really am. It truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm really just trying to make the most of it."

The standout running back, who has attended junior days at Texas A&M, Texas, and Oklahoma, plans on making another this weekend, at Texas Tech, where he looks to complete his spring road trip schedule. Having already seen three schools up close and personal, the star junior has an idea of what he wants to see in a school.
"I want a great education first and foremost," he explained. "I want to find the perfect fit, a place where I can be fairly close to home, but like I said, mainly a great education, the right fit, a great atmosphere, just taking everything into consideration."
Swope, who has been invited to junior days at Arkansas, Oregon, Nebraska, Louisville, and a few other schools, is looking forward to visiting Tech this weekend.
"Tech was my first offer, so I'm really excited about going up there this weekend," said the Austin Westlake junior. "I want to get a feel for the coaches, the campus, the atmosphere, you know, all that stuff. I've been talking to Coach Sadler a lot, so I'm looking forward to spending some time with him as well."
Though Swope has played mainly running back in high school, he's being recruiting at several positions.
"I've played offense for most of my career and I love making things happen, but I want to help out my team in whatever way I can, so if that's at defensive back, I think I'd have a great time, but if it's at running back, then I'll love that too. I do love offense, but I also really love coming up and popping someone too, so either way I'm happy," he said. "A&M says they want me as a slot/running back type guy and so does Tech, so we'll see what happens."
After his visit to Lubbock, Swope will begin to think about which school fits his needs, and hopes to have a decision before his senior season starts so he can concentrate on leading his team to a state championship.
