FALL CAMP

The topic of social media and just how important it is for college programs these days is something we have addressed on the site before. Texas Tech made a few hires and brought in some talented folks to begin creating more of a consistent social media presence for the Red Raiders this off-season.

These moves are already showing dividends, and the program is pumping out some truly impressive content from the start of fall camp. The tweet above provides a link to the Texas Tech 'Fall Camp Central' with practice reports, pictures from practice, and various other links to team information going into the season.

These are only a few examples of content from the week, but each new image or video is a perfect example of the progress being made within the program from a social media perspective.

And we get it, the conversation and various avenues for social media aren't for every Texas Tech fan. However, you can bet every potential recruit around the state noticed these bit-sized updates on Twitter and other social media outlets.

OFFICIAL OFFERS

Last Monday, August 1st marked the first day college programs could begin delivering official scholarship offers to 2017 recruits. The Texas Tech coaches were active, and you guessed it, the delivery method was...wait for it...social media.

Here are some examples of what the Red Raiders official offers looked like...

Eisenhower CB commit Adrian Frye

Birdville OL commit Jared Hocker

Cibolo Steele QB commit Xavier Martin

The 'official' official offer is a big deal to committed prospects that have earned the full-ride scholarship opportunity. There are several other examples, but each player from the Texas Tech 2017 recruiting class quickly shared the images on social media.

Even last year, these official offers were pictures of mail and they certainly weren't followed up with a custom image of said recruit. This is another example of the progress being made by the Texas Tech program when it comes to social media.

We are fans of the efforts and believe the little details like these will go a long way with helping the Red Raiders to target additional recruits in the 2017 class and beyond.
