Lawton (Ok.) Eisenhower duel-threat recruit Jake Ratliff said on Thursday that he has a pretty strong feeling about where he’ll play his college ball and he’s just about ready to make it official.

“I’m pretty close to pulling the trigger. I’m going to go ahead and call the Texas Tech coaches, probably in the next few days, and tell them I’m ready to commit,” Ratliff said.
The talented tight end/defensive end prospect attended camps at Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State and he said it’s more a gut feeling than anything that has him ready to wear the red and black.
“I just like it there. I don’t know what it is really. I like everything about it,” Ratliff said about the Red Raider program. “The coaches treated me and my dad really well and I was really comfortable with them.”
Although he has been recruited to play on both offense and defense, the 6-5, 234-pound standout said the Red Raider staff wants him to play along the defensive line.
“It doesn’t matter to me where I line up. I just want to play,” Ratliff said. “I like defensive end, especially getting to the passer.”
Ratliff picked the Red Raiders over the two in-state schools as well as Texas A&M and Colorado.
