Addison picked up an offer from the Red Raiders on April 28 and committed to the Red Raiders while on his visit to Lubbock last weekend.

"I just felt it was the best decision for me and my family, and I have a great opportunity to play early here. That's what it's all about, just playing."

Addison earned First Team All-District honors this past season and is Tech's first 2017 defensive commit. He is listed as a safety but the Red Raiders are expecting to use him at cornerback and safety when he gets to Lubbock.

Recruits recap visits

Texas Tech hosted a number of visitors this past weekend with each of the visitors having nothing but good things to say about their time in Lubbock.

"My Dad and I sat down with Coach Kingsbury, Coach Hays, and Coach (Eric) Morris towards the end of the visit," Hocker said. "It was a good meeting, we just went over the things I'm looking for in a school and we all got to know one another better in general.

"The coaches had nothing but good things to say and basically told me they would continue recruiting me until the very end of my recruiting process."

“I loved the jerseys, the jerseys are wonderful. The atmosphere down there, the coaches, and the vibe, it’s real. They are about business, but they are laid back. They take what they do very seriously. There is definitely a lot to like.”

“They are definitely a lot higher on my list now that I’ve taken a visit up there. Definitely top five. I need to take some more visits and evaluate some more schools, but I really enjoyed my visit to Lubbock.”

"I have been in touch with Coach Hays for about a month or two now," Kerstetter said. "We had been talking a little bit, mostly messages, but I also started to get hand-written letters from him and Coach (Eric) Morris recently. Coach Hays came down for practice last week and liked what he saw from me."

“Coach Scott and I have been talking for a while, just back and forth on Twitter. He was talking about how he was going to come down and see me practice. He came and saw me and told me he was crazy about me and how much he liked me. He was coaching me up on some of the things I need to work on, and from there we just started talking more about the school and me coming to visit.

We talked on the phone that night and he was telling me how he talked to my coaches and stuff and how he wanted to extend an offer.”
