With only Frisco products Jack Anderson and Dawson Deaton committed to Tech along the offensive line, Lee Hays is on the trail looking to add two or more prospects to the group. Hocker has become one of those primary targets over the last few weeks, picking up an offer several weeks back and visiting Lubbock last weekend.

The OT had this to say about his trip out to Tech:

"Coach Hays is simply a great guy," Hocker said. "We have been in touch for a few weeks now and I made the trip to Texas Tech this weekend with my father. We made it down to Lubbock on Saturday morning, spent the day visiting, and headed back home later that night."

"When we arrived, Coach Hays gave us a tour of the facilities and drove us around the campus. We saw the recreation center and the athletic academic center, then we toured the stadium and ate lunch."

EVALUATION

Hocker checks off all the boxes for what Hays is looking for in offensive linemen. He's long, athletic, has good feet, can run block, and has a motor. He's a player that's starting to bloom here heading into his senior season, and that's becoming very apparent by the number of programs starting to stop by and check in on him.

WHERE DOES TECH STAND?

While he is committed to Kansas, it's very clear that Hocker is still l0oking around and is interested in checking out all his options, which seem to be growing. His visit out to Tech went very well, and seeing as Tech was only the second power five team to offer him, they've put their name in the hat and have gotten ahead of the curve. However, TCU and A&M are definitely two schools to keep an eye on, especially the Aggies.
