Porter is No. 9 for Tech
Texas Tech picked up a verbal commitment this Friday from Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Marshall offensive lineman Maurice Porter.
The 6-foot-5, 285 pound tackle helps fill a void at a position of need for Tech. He will be part of the Red Raiders 2013 recruiting class and is ranked as the 36th overall offensive lineman in the nation by Rivals.com.

"I'm very excited," Porter said. "It feels like a relief from the pressure that was on me to make my decision and now the pressures just like gone."
Porter chose the Red Raiders over other finalist Baylor and Oklahoma State and also held offers from Texas A&M, West Virginia, Colorado, Houston and others. He was recruited to Tech by running backs coach Chad Scott.
