Show Me State defensive end hopes to camp with Texas Tech

Texas Tech has four defensive commits for their 2017 class. Of those commits, all four are defensive backs. For defensive line coach Kevin Patrick and the rest of the staff, the search is still on to find more front seven prospects to add to the board.

One prospect has been on Patrick’s radar since early May is Battle (Mo.) defensive end Keiondre Hall. Hall and Patrick still talk once or twice a week and Hall hopes to visit Texas Tech and plans to attend the program's satellite camp in Duncanville on July 24.

WHAT'S NEXT?:

Hall is pretty confident that he will be able to make the trip down south from Missouri in July to camp with Tech, and he is excited for the chance to see the coaches and show them how he moves. Hall plays has experience as a hand-in-the-ground defensive end as well as a defensive end/outside linebacker hybrid and thinks he could be a good fit at Tech.

Along with the Red Raiders, Hall hears from Clemson and Arkansas frequently. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound defensive end plays shooting guard for his basketball squad and is currently doing a lot of traveling with the team. Despite the busy basketball schedule, Hall has plans to camp with Kansas, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Illinois, and Clemson this summer along with the Tech camp.

IN HIS WORDS:

On camping with the Red Raiders:

“I’m hoping to show them that I can be a leader. I want to be at the front of every line and give 100 percent effort in every drill. I just want to show them my athleticism and how I move and show them I can get to the quarterback.”

On interest in Tech:

“I watched them play a few times last year and watched their d-line play. They have a good defensive line and some good guys coming back. I really like Coach Patrick and think he could be the coach that could make me better to be good enough to play on Sundays.”

OUR REACTION:

Tech doesn’t have many offers to uncommitted prospects on the defensive line currently, but Patrick does have a few targets on the board, including Hall. Hall is pretty athletic and has a nice frame, and the chance to show off his frame and athletic ability at the camp could cement Hall’s status on Tech’s board. He is interested in the Red Raiders and the chance to get him to a camp and to campus is very likely.
