TECH ON TOP FOR
LOUISIANA LINEBACKER
Lafayette (La.) Acadiana outside linebacker Kevin Moore took an official visit
to Texas Tech for the program's season-opener on
Sept. 5. The three-star prospect included the Red Raiders in his top five back in July and
now, following his visit to the South Plains, Moore has Kliff Kingsbury's program at the top of his list.
"To be honest, I just really liked the love from the coaches," he said. "I loved the
campus, and I really connect with the coaches. Everything they showed me was
just nice; I'd like to play there to be honest with you. The whole town, the
campus, everything, I was surprised by it all, and I didn't expect it to be that
nice," he said.
"They're number one (on my list) right now. Out of all the schools that I've
been to, I really liked it there the most. I think it's a great place, I love
the city, and I just loved everything about the school."

TECH TARGET OUT FOR SEASONOne of Texas Tech's top remaining
targets, Tyler Lee athlete Zach Hall, is out for the year following a
knee injury. The three-star prospect suffered the injury in the third quarter of
Lee's game against John Tyler. Hall finishes the year with 644 pass yards, 300
rush yards and nine total touchdowns through three games.
Hall recently included the Red Raiders in his top five along with Baylor, TCU,
SMU and Missouri. He has yet to plan any official visits. Texas Tech is looking
at him as a slot receiver or a cornerback.

JUNIOR TO WATCH
RB Travell Lumpkin, Cibolo Steele -- Lumpkin was offered by the Red
Raider coaching staff back in July while he was on an unofficial visit to the
South Plains. Lumpkin hears from Kevin Curtis daily and his starting
quarterback at Cibolo, Xavier Martin, is already committed to Texas
Tech. Lumpkin and Martin will be visiting for the TCU game on Sept. 26.
"I hear from them every day; I hear from coach Curtis every day. He sends me
motivational quotes, asks me about my upcoming game, tells me good luck, and is
always trying to get me back to Lubbock," he said. "I'll actually be down for
the TCU game with Xavier (Martin), and I am really excited to see the players,
the coaches, and the game atmosphere for the first time."
Lumpkin rushed 14 times for 138 yards and 4 touchdowns in Steele's most recent
win over Sandra Day O'Connor.
