Not so fast part II . . . Metcalf not committed

When Pima College assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Doug Holland told Rivals100.com that three of his players had made commitments, it came as a surprise to just about everyone – including the players.
Texas Tech had supposedly picked up tight end Willie Metcalf, but we all know now that it wasn’t true.

“I didn’t commit on purpose if I had,” Metcalf said. “They (the Tech coaches) told me that they would offer me when I tripped there, but I don’t have one yet.”
That is something pretty different from what Holland had said. He told Jeremy Crabtree of Rivals100.com that all three had made commitments. Once all three were tracked down, it turns out that Holland was wrong and none of them had committed.
Metcalf said that his choice will be made on one thing.
“I want to go to wherever I will get the ball,” he said.
He is also looking into playing two sports at his next destination.
“I’d like to play both football and basketball,” Metcalf said. “I’d love to play for Coach Knight, but they (the Tech football coaches) haven’t talked to me about it.”
Metcalf is also looking at Iowa, Tennessee and Ohio State. He may visit Iowa, but he said that the Iowa coaches want him to send his transcript before they schedule a visit.
For right now, he is uncommitted as well as his two teammates, Ryan Patterson and Michael Smith. Smith is scheduled to make an official visit to Texas Tech with Metcalf on January 10.
