Two Texas Tech commits honored by Touchdown Club of Houston

Wednesday night, the Touchdown Club of Houston held a kickoff dinner and reception to recognize players selected to its 2016 Preseason Kickoff Team.

Last year, Texas Tech offensive lineman signees Travis Bruffy and Gio Pancotti were honored as part of this kickoff dinner. In 2014, linebacker D'Vonta Hinton and wide receiver Jonathan Giles were similarly recognized.

The 2016 Preseason Kickoff Team includes two Texas Tech 2017 commitments: offensive lineman Will Farrar and defensive back Adam Beck.

Beck, a 5.7 three-star prospect ranked as the No. 32 safety in the nation, chose the Red Raiders over offers from Baylor, Mississippi State, Colorado, Houston and several others.

On being recognized as a preseason selection by the Touchdown Club of Houston...

"Thank you very much. It's a blessing! I prayed for moments like this. It's crazy how far I've come. Just ready to get my senior season started and do all I can."

Farrar, a 5.7 three-star prospect ranked as the No. 21 offensive guard in the nation, chose the Red Raiders over offers from UCLA, Miami, LSU, Texas, Cal, Kansas State and several others.

On being recognized as a preseason selection by the Touchdown Club of Houston...

"It's an honor. To see all of the big names that gave been recognized in the previous years like Andrew Luck and Vince Young. To think that they were here at my age as well is very exciting."
