Up
next? Safety Terrance Bullitt out of Garland (TX) Naaman Forest. With the team
losing five safeties from last year's squad, the 6-foot-3, 182-pound defensive
back with a nasty on-field temperament enters fall camp with a legitimate chance
to be in the rotation this season.
HOW HAVE YOUR FIRST
FEW DAYS OF PRACTICE GONE?
"It's going good, just got some more stuff to learn. Those guys like Cody
[Davis] and them and Julius [Howard] at free safety. Coach Ruff getting on me
hard, I need that though. I mean, I'm doing good but I got a lot to learn."
WHERE DOES COACH MAINORD HAVE YOU LINING UP?
"Coach Mainord's got me at free safety, I like it, it's going good so far. I
played outside linebacker my senior year, but my junior and sophomore I played
free safety."
THERE'S A LOT OF PLAYING TIME UP FOR GRABS, DOES THAT PROVIDE EXTRA
MOTIVATION DURING THE OFFSEASON?
"I mean, yeah, but we'll see what happens, I'm just going to go out here and
take it day by day and see what happens."
WHAT'S YOUR RELATIONSHIP LIKE WITH THE OTHER NEWCOMERS IN THE SECONDARY?
"It's good, Will (Ford) is my roommate, and Dainel [Cobb], he comes over all
the time, him and D.J. [Johnson], we all hang out all the time "
WHO HAVE YOU BEEN LOOKING TO AT SAFETY FOR ADVICE?
"All of them are helping me, Cody, [Brett] Dewhurst, I'd say Dewhurst the most
that's been helping me."
LOOKING BACK, WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT FROM YOUR HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
CAREER?
"When we beat Garland, that was a big rivalry game when we beat them, so I
knew a lot of friends that went there. So, yeah, that'd have to be it."
DO YOU HAVE A PREGAME RITUAL?
"I say a prayer before I go out."
DO YOU HAVE A NICKNAME?
"Up here they call me T-Bull, Coach Ruff started that"
IS THERE ANY SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE OR STORY BEHIND YOUR CHOICE OF JERSEY NUMBER (1)?
"Yeah there is, I told everyone I was going to be No. 1 this year. All
the upper classman, like LaRon [Moore], Baron Batch, they didn't believe me, so
you know, that should keep them quiet."
WHO IS THE FUNNIEST GUY IN YOUR SIGNING CLASS?
"Pearlie Graves is the funniest guy in my class, he's just a character.
Interview him and you'll see."
WHAT'S YOUR STRONGEST ATTRIBUTE AS A PLAYER?
"I'm real physical."
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO WORK ON THE MOST DURING FALL CAMP?
"I want to work on man to man coverage. And tell everybody, don't let
the weight fool you. Yeah, because a lot of people don't think that I can really
play cause I'm at 180, 182. People think I need to redshirt. I'm just going to
play this season at 182, take it or leave it."
HAVE YOU NOTICED ANY PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES OR CHANGES AFTER SPENDING THE SUMMER
GOING THROUGH THE OFFSEASON PROGRAM WITH BENNIE?
"Oh yeah, I got a whole lot stronger, faster too. Bennie [Wylie] is crazy, but
he works out with us, so he knows how it is."
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF THE SUMMER FOR YOU?
"I think we scrimmaged Northeastern Oklahoma or something like that and I got an
interception."
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN TOWN?
"Oh yeah, Spankies. Yeah, that fried cheese is pretty good.."
HAVE YOU DECIDED ON A MAJOR?
"ESS is going to be my major, either that or undecided so far."
