Farrar talks interest in Texas Tech

With the commitment of Rivals100 prospect Jack Anderson, it is only a matter of time before Tech starts bringing in some other big-named players for the 2017 class. One recruit that was impacted by Anderson's commitment was Richmond (Texas) Travis offensive lineman, Will Farrar. Farrar already had high interest in the Red Raiders before Anderson's commit- he visited Lubbock for the Tech vs. Sam Houston State game-but due to his very close relationship with the Frisco o-lineman, Farrar's interest in Tech has perked up. Farrar immediately heard from Anderson following his commitment saying that Anderson told him 'Now it is your turn.' The 6-foot-4, 295-pound lineman has built up a very close relationship with Tech offensive line coach Lee Hays as well.

WHAT'S NEXT?:
Farrar is rated as the No. 12 offensive guard in the country and the No. 67 player in Texas. The three-star prospect has interest from several top programs across the nation and has 15 offers to his credit. Texas A&M, Baylor, Ole Miss, Miami, Houston, Arizona State, Washington, and UCLA are all standing out to Farrar right now and with a bye week this week, he is looking to get out to a college game somewhere. Unlike Anderson, Farrar will be taking his time and weighing his options over the next few months, but he does want to commit before his senior season and Texas Tech is in the mix.
IN HIS WORDS:
"It was really awesome that he (Anderson) committed to Tech. I really think he always knew he was going to go there; I think everyone knew he was going to go there. Him making that commit was huge and will definitely attract the eyes of other big recruits, like myself. We have always talked about going to Tech and playing together. He did his part, and I guess it is up to me now."
OUR REACTION:
The Red Raiders are off to a fantastic start with their 2017 class, especially with Jack Anderson and Tyler Castaneda on the offensive line. Adding another piece like Farrar to the group would help make it an extremely strong and talented O-like class for Lee Hays, whose already put the foundation in place for Tech to be very good in the trenches for years to come. Tech had Farrar intrigued before Anderson's commitment, but now they clearly have his attention. - Will McKay
