Duffey excited about future

Making a weekend trip to Lubbock is always on the mind of Lake Ridge (Texas) Mansfield quarterback and Tech commit Jett Duffey. This past weekend, Duffey made it to Texas Tech for the TCU game, which he called a "great experience". The QB was able to experience all aspects of a game weekend, including meetings, eating, and hanging out with the team. He also caught up with head coach Kliff Kingsbury, and the two spoke about Duffey fitting into the offense at Tech and his role when he arrives on campus as an early enrollee in January.

WHAT'S NEXT?:
Now, Duffey will look to continue an already impressive senior campaign at Lake Ridge. The Elite 11 qualifier has gone 47-for-81 for 762 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions so far this fall, adding 53 rush attempts for 463 yards and six scores. Once the fall semester is in the books, the Lake Ridge signal caller will be enrolling at Tech in January, which he called, "A great opportunity to just come in early and learn the system a lot faster and be able to compete for a spot."
IN HIS WORDS:
"At the end it was a fluke loss, but I don't take it as a loss. I take it as a victory because it's showing Texas Tech is a contending program and it is also showing that they did fight and they can ball." … "My favorite part of the weekend was hearing Raider Power. Hearing that crowd roar, that was one of my favorite moments."
OUR REACTION:
It's worth noting that Duffey used his official visit for the TCU weekend, as he won't be taking one with the rest of his classmates in early January since he'll already be on campus. The senior is having a nice season, and Red Raider fans are eager for him to join the program in the coming months. - Will McKay
