Crabtree goes on the record about the NFL

As a collegiate wide receiver, Texas Tech sophomore Michael Crabtree has little left to prove. He will likely pick up his second Biletnikoff Award next week, won the AT&T All-America Player of the Year Award as a freshman, is a two-time All-American and is projected by many services as a Top 10 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.

But when next April rolls around, he may be thinking more about suiting up for Texas Tech's Red & Black Spring Game than the Super Bowl, because Crabtree made a very surprising statement today regarding the NFL Draft.

"Yeah," he responded when asked if he would be returning for his junior season.

But surely, there must be some consideration of entering the NFL?

"No, not at all," responded Crabtree when asked that question.

"I'm taking every game like I did last year, one game at a time. I'm really not worried too much about the future right now because that's out of my reach. I'm just worried about what I can control, and that's college football."

In two seasons at Texas Tech, Crabtree has caught 227 passes for 3,097 yards and 40 touchdowns.

Underclassmen have until January 15th to submit their name for the 2009 NFL Draft.
