Here's how things stand with the Texas Tech basketball program as the summer comes to a close.
Don't look now but JUCO transfer guard Niem Stevenson may very well be the best player on this team. He's come in and essentially established himself as the best scorer on this team already, and his ability to create shots is simply better than anyone else on the roster. Stevenson in position to be this team's top offensive weapon.
The level of competition among the guards has really taken a jump, and Keenan Evans has fully embraced the challenge. The way it looks now, Gio McLean will play quite a bit. It would be a surprise at this point if McLean supplants Evans as the team's starter, but he will absolutely contribute this season.
