Gault: '100 percent a Badger'
Jaden Gault has been committed to Wisconsin for well over a year, but Saturday's unofficial visit made the 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive lineman 100 percent confident in his decision.
"I'm fully committed to Wisconsin right now -- I'm 100 percent a Badger," Gault told BadgerBlitz.com. "The visit went really well and it was great to get back to Camp Randall. Obviously the team played a great game against BYU. The atmosphere was really great and I think Wisconsin has the best fans in the nation."
Last weekend, Gault, a four-star prospect from Monona Grove, Wis., took an official visit to Arkansas, a trip that made Wisconsin fans a bit uneasy.
"It was really cool to see a different campus," Gault said. "I've only been to Wisconsin games so it was great to see the SEC. It was different in a lot of ways.
"Academically, Wisconsin is a lot better. At Wisconsin I can get a great education and really do what I want. And with football, I'm just a great fit at Wisconsin. Both those things make me really comfortable with my decision."
Saturday, Gault was also able to talk with position coach T.J. Woods, who wants to begin working with him as soon as possible.
"Coach Woods wants me to come in early, so I plan on coming in after their bowl game and after the Army All-American game," said Gault, who has also heard from Oregon, Ohio State and Oklahoma recently. "Basically, if I play well I should be able to travel with the team and crack the two-deep. It should be a similar role to Dan Voltz because they'd like to redshirt me, but I could play if needed."
"I also talked to Austin Hudson for a while and he's a good guy. There was another kid there from Florida (Chris Lammons) and he seemed to be having a good time. But Austin will be coming in early and it will be good to know someone in this class who is graduating early."
Undefeated Monona Grove (12-0) is set to play La Crosse
Logan on Friday for a chance at a WIAA Division 3 state title.
"Right now I'm really focused on hight school," Gault said. "I want to win a state championship and that's my focus. I know I have a home at Wisconsin but there's still some stuff I need to take care of at Monona Grove."
