Henry excited about future at BC

Donovan Henry knows Boston College is 1-4 to start the season, a rocky start for sure, but the West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial defensive back who committed to the Eagles in July isn't thinking about looking around.

If anything, Boston College's rough start is motivating to Henry, who said he's looking forward to coming in and helping out right away.

"It is motivating," Henry said. "They are a young team. They have a couple older guys who are leading but most of their guys are really young so they're developing. It's motivating because I want to help them in the future."

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound two-star cornerback took his official visit to Boston College this past weekend for the Wake Forest game and spent a good deal of time with the players - especially Jim Noel - and Henry said things went really well.

He bonded with a lot of the guys and that was an important factor because he wants to like the people around him once he gets to Boston College.

"(Noel) had some good things to say and we really enjoyed ourselves," Henry said. "I spent the night there and got to meet a lot of the players on the team. They're all good guys and they treated me well and I enjoyed being around them.

"I felt really comfortable around them. It just made me feel more confident about my decision that I liked hanging out with the guys."

Henry, who committed to Boston College on July 13, also got to talk and eat with members of the coaching staff and that went well, too.

He and his parents had a good visit to Chestnut Hill and it only reinforced his decision that Boston College is the right place for him.

"I've been to a game before that but when we got to the game I talked with the recruiting coordinator," Henry said.

"My parents and I went and had a good time at the game. They fed us well and we watched the game and then afterward we ate with coach (Sean) Devine and coach (Mike) Siravo. I had a really good time."
