Dural says it's LSU-Bama
Keeping the big-time in-state talent within your boarders is a must for all schools to be successful.
LSU football coach Les Miles and his staff hope to keep one of the top wide receiver prospects for the Class of 2012 within the state in Travin Dural.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Breaux Bridge wide receiver has a pair of scholarship offers on the table thus far. In addition to the offer from Miles and staff Dural has a scholarship offer from Alabama.
"I've had the offer from LSU for about a week now," Dural said. "I actually made the trip to Baton Rouge today for the scrimmage on campus. I had a fun time and it went really well. I got to talk a lot to the coaching staff one-on-one. There were thoughts of committing today but I did not end up doing that.
"They (LSU) were impressive," Dural said. "I saw the new quarterback (Zach Mettenberger) throw the ball quite well. They really seem to be passing the ball a whole lot. Being a wide receiver that is always something you like to see."
Dural said he got significant individual time to talk with the coaching staff.
"I talked for a long time with Coach Miles and that was something I was really looking forward to doing," Dural said. "He and I just talked about how if I chose to come to LSU that I would have the chance to really come in and compete for some early playing time my freshman season. They like the big and fast receivers and I am what they are looking for.
"(Assistant Coach) Brick Haley and I are also quickly developing a good relationship as well," Dural said. "I really like what I am hearing from him and we get along really well."
In terms of a timeline on his decision Dural said that he is still wide open on when he will commit.
"Right now it is LSU and Alabama," Dural said.
