Texas tackle flooded with offers

Houston, Texas offensive tackle Archie Muniz has been flooded with scholarship offers over the past two months.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder received his first scholarship offer from Mississippi State during the close of spring practice and now has an impressive list of 14 offers from around the country.

"Recruiting has been going good," Muniz said. "I've gotten 14 offers and I've been going with my parents this summer trying to check out as many colleges as I can. I'm not sure if I am going to commit by the end of the summer or when the season starts. My plan is to check out every college and wherever I best fit I'm going to go to that college."

Muniz admitted that his offer from the Bulldogs holds a special place for him.

"Mississippi State was my very first offer," Muniz said. "It was really special and I was really surprised. Mississippi State is a really good school and I checked into it. After I got the offer I didn't hear from them for a month. I wondered why they hadn't called me especially since they were the first to offer. If I don't make a decision, I'm probably going to save Mississippi State for an official visit."

Muniz also has scholarship offers from Arizona State, Colorado State, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, Northwestern, Tulane, Utah, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Rice, SMU and UTEP.
