Army offers DE out of Washington

At 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, Maxx Forde already has a solid physical base to work with and add on his football pedigree, where his dad played linebacker for Washington State, you can see why college coaches are showing interest in the defensive end product out Woodinville (WA) Woodinville High School.

Currently, Forde holds offers from Army, Washington State and Wyoming, although in one previous report, it indicated that he also had received a forth offer from Idaho. "There is not an offer from Idaho, but they were at my school the other day," shares Forde. "It looks like its close (offer) though."

In addition to the three offers he holds, the strong-side defensive end prospect is also hearing from a few Pac-10 and Ivy League schools, such as Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Princeton and Yale. "Princeton had a coach out here, as did Yale," shares the student-athlete who maintains a 3.73 cumulative GPA.

In terms of coaches visiting, the Black Knights have made their presence felt. "They (Army) came Wednesday and that's when they ended up offering," declares Forde. "Coach Shields talked to my coach and told me they were going to offering me. I was a little shocked, because I hadn't really heard much from them until they came out to visit me."

And what schools have captured Forde's interest? "I have a high interest in any school that offers me," states the defensive end prospect. "Right now I'm just looking at them, weighing them and I will give them all a fair chance and evaluate them."

This summer, Forde indicated that he will be attending a couple of camps, lifting and practicing with his teammates as he prepares for his upcoming senior season. Although he is not willing to share which camps he will be attending at the point.

Primarily being recruited for defensive, he is getting attention on both side of the ball and some schools are viewing him as an athlete, which is the type of player that sticks out for Army Head Coach Rich Ellerson. Forde noted that both Stanford and Oregon are looking at him as an athlete on either side of the ball, while Army is looking at him on the defensive side of the ball, and Wyoming is considering him on offense.

Forde best 40 time was clocked at 4.69 and he finished his junior year with 50 tackles, 4 sacks, while also playing offensive tackle.

Last season Woodinville High School finished 9-2, where they made it to 2nd round of the state playoffs. will continue to stay in touch with Forde throughout his recruiting process.
