AUBURN | Spencer Williams is sticking to his guns -- at least for now.


The three-star defensive end from Jacksonville, Fla., said Sunday that Auburn remains in second place behind Cincinnati in the race for his signature in February. Williams committed to the Bearcats, led by former Tigers coach Tommy Tuberville, last summer.


"Auburn is definitely number two," Williams said Sunday morning. "The only other school I really talk to is Georgia Tech. That's it."


Williams, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 230 pounds, has remained loyal to Cincinnati due to his relationship with assistant coach Robert Prunty. Also, the Bearcats were the first major-conference program to offer Williams a scholarship.


Loyalty is important to the soft-spoken end. Still, Williams said his final decision will be made after considering a wire array of information about all possible destinations.


"It's the bigger picture, the education and everything, and how I fit into the program," Williams said.
