Florida OL, has strong interest in Army

With one offer (Army) under his belt, offensive lineman Dakota Deyent is making his summer camp and combine rounds in order to receive even more exposure.

The most recent stop for the 6-foot-4, 295 pounder out of Tallahassee (Fl.) Lincoln High School was the Down & Dirty camp held at Stetson University this past week.

"Things are going good and went good at the Down & Dirty camp," said Deyent to GoBlackKnights.com. "I just finish the camp and I did good. Out of the 400-500 kids there I got the "Best Pass Setter" award ... that was pretty cool."
The camp is designed for High School offensive and defensive lineman and it is in its 23rd year in Florida. It consists of 7 practice "Opportunities" that are spread over a 3 day period. All players wear helmets and shoulder pads and there is considerable upper body contact.
"Yes, it was a three day camp," confirms Deyent, who broke out the camps itineary, along with discussing his offer from the Black Knights. "The first day we had two practices, second day we had three practices and the last day we only had two practices."
"Things are coming along well with Army and Coach Holmes (Clarence) who is handling my recruiting," adds Deyent.
"I think Army is a great school, but I'm trying to stay neutral because I don't want to get over excited and just make a quick decision. But no doubt, West Point is a great school. I actually want to visit and of course my friend and teammate Huff (Trevin) is committed there. I think it would be cool if I get up there and see him as well."
In addition to Army, Deyent says he is hearing from others. "FSU came to a few of my practice and videoed me. I have talked to a lot of coaches the last few days.

However, as much as camps, combines and recruiting have occupied Deyent's spring and summer, he has not lost focus of the upcoming 2012 season and is very optimistic.
"Our team is looking pretty good," offers Deyent. "I think we got a lot of guys that really want it, and I know I do ... it's my last year. I'm kind of excited about and I feel that I've gotten a lot better since the previous year. I think we are going to do good."
