Scelfo taking his time
The center position is one of the most important positions on the football field and he is the player who touches the ball every snap. At Syracuse Macky MacPherson will be a junior next year and barring any injuries his replacement will have no on field playing time. That means that future depth will be important at the position.
Joseph Scelfo however could be a player that helps make that position a little deeper if he decides to pick the Orange.
"My thoughts on Syracuse are that I like the school, they have a great campus, and I like Coach Adkins and Coach Marrone. Coach Adkins and I have a really good relationship. I also like that they are going to the ACC and a lot of the games will be played closer to home. I like everything they have to offer."
The Orange have a lot going for them right now, but they could have more as a visit has not been taken yet, but it is in the cards.
"I have not made a visit yet, but I am going to go up there pretty soon. I think will get up there within the month," Scelfo said. "I am really going to be looking to see how the coach's act on game day and a lot of little things like the players on game day, the fans on game day, see if they have a good support group."
With all of the items that stick out to Scelfo about the Orange there is one that stands at the top.
"Education and how I could get a solid education there. I do not really know what I want to go to school for yet."
Where do the Orange stand for the Peach State product?
"Syracuse is up there a lot they are in my top five."
There will not be any decision made for awhile because Scelfo wants to see all of his top programs first.
"I will make a decision after I take my officials, but really it is just going to be when I am ready. I don't think it will be too soon."
Whichever schools is fortunate enough to receive his letter of intent will be getting a prospect that brings a lot to the table.
"I think I bring a little extra intensity, from the stand point of the guy who always gets after it, leadership, and a good kid off of the field. I stay away from a lot of things off of the field you don't have to worry about me getting into trouble."
