Price Gains CMU Offer

Jodan Price has the makings of a prototype wing player as he stands at 6'7, 175 pounds and has a high basketball pedigree. The young shooting guard out of Detroit Country Day already has four offers and has several other high major programs showing a lot of interest in him.

The four schools that have offered Price are Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Lamar and Saint Joseph's. All four offers have come within the last two weeks. EMU was the first to offer the Detroit native. CMU has been showing interest in him since the beginning of this past school year.

Price's AAU team is The Family, which is one of the top AAU programs in the midwest and in the country. Playing for The Family, along with playing at Country Day, has helped him to improve as a basketball player and prepared him for the recruiting process.

With Country Day, you know everybody wants to play hard against you every game, so you've got to be on your game every night. With the family, we play against the top teams in the country all the time. When you go to the AYBL Nike League, every game is tough. It's our goal to make the Nike Peace Jam every year because only 24 teams get invited to that."

Price does not have a top five at this point and he actually doesn't have any leaders right now.

"I don't really have any favorites at this point. I'm just keeping it wide open right now. I don't even have a top five right now."

The other schools that are showing interest in Price right now are Maryland, Colorado, Minnesota, USF, Northwestern, Boston College and Iowa State.

The Detroit native is looking for a program where he can play right away and make an impact in a high-scoring offense.

"Right now, I'm looking for a school where I can make an immediate impact and do something big. I'm looking for a school that has a good offense, where I can score."

Price visited Central Michigan last fall for one of the Chippewa's football games and will be back in Mount Pleasant this Sunday for an unofficial visit.

The Country Day senior is also planning on making a few other visits, as well as attending some camps throughout the summer.

"Right now, I'm not totally sure what I'm doing. I know I'm going to Northwestern. I might get invited to the Kevin Durant thing or one of the skills academies. I've got to talk to my AAU coach about my plans."

Price does not have any kind of timetable right now concerning when he is going to make a verbal commitment to a school.

"Not right now. After July, I'll see and then I'll start worrying about it more. We'll see what's going on and after that we'll start looking into stuff more."
